Green Bay Packaging enhances asset management with IFS’ solutions

US-based packaging manufacturer Green Bay Packaging (GBP) has implemented IFS cloud enterprise asset management (EAM) and NRG master data management solutions to streamline maintenance processes and drive asset reliability.

IFS Cloud has been deployed at GBP’s two main paper mills and is aimed at driving asset reliability and enhancing procurement functionality.

GBP’s previous EAM solution was deemed inadequate because of its lack of mobile functionality and difficulty in integrating with other business lines.

In response, GBP sought a new EAM solution and IFS Cloud fulfilled all of GBP’s requirements, providing integration into existing systems.

The packaging manufacturer required a central platform to support its safety, environmental, quality, and reliability objectives, allowing it to meet demanding asset management goals.

IFS Cloud EAM’s asset tracking and condition-based maintenance capabilities provide GBP with a comprehensive view of its asset portfolio. This allows the business to detect assets at risk of failure, schedule preventative maintenance, and monitor the effectiveness of maintenance activities, helping to minimise downtime and expand asset lifespan.

Moreover, GBP intends to enhance its maintenance strategies using IFS Cloud EAM by using vibration analysis, which supports machine connectivity and predictive analytics. The move will further optimise asset management processes.

The IFS solution also enables GBP to improve asset utilisation by gaining a better understanding of asset usage and availability, resulting in enhanced workforce scheduling and material management, ensuring that the packaging manufacturer has the correct inventory and maintenance personnel in the right place at the right time.

Additionally, the mobile functionality reduces the need for manual tasks, such as completing paper-based reports and time-consuming form filling, allowing warehouse and field-based engineers and technicians to focus on more value-added activities.

GBP maintenance and reliability manager Lucas Law said: “IFS Cloud, combined with Net Results Group’s MRO3iTM, was the only joint solution available on the market that could deliver all the functionality we required. We needed an asset management solution today, and IFS and NRG delivered.

“But more than that, IFS offered us a partnership that delivered confidence for our future ambitions and needs. As champions of sustainability, we also value both company’s positions on ESG and trust that moving forward they will keep our interests at heart and deliver strong ROI.”
