Hanmi Pharmaceutical unveils automated vial dispensing machine

Hanmi Pharmaceutical has launched Countmate, a fully automated vial dispensing machine designed to meet the specific needs of the Canadian and US pharmaceutical markets.

This strategic move is aimed at expanding the company’s footprint in North America and driving global sales growth.

Countmate is the latest solution from Hanmi Pharmaceutical’s global business headquarters Overseas Sales Team and its affiliate, JVM. The machine represents a diversification of JVM’s product range, which previously focused on pouch-type dispensing equipment.

The new machine can be configured with either 84 or 168 canisters, catering to different pharmacy sizes and processing up to 160 prescriptions per hour.

Its advanced technology includes an orthogonal robot for precise vial labelling and built-in cameras for image verification.

Countmate also focuses on safety and convenience, featuring safety sensors, hygienic preparation processes, and a space-efficient design.

These attributes, along with its competitive pricing, position Countmate as an attractive option for pharmacies looking to adopt automation, says the company.

The product was first introduced to the public at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear 2024 Conference in New Orleans, US.

The ASHP Midyear Conference is a pivotal event for pharmacy professionals in the US, offering a platform for discussions on medication management and pharmacy optimisation.

Hanmi continues to work in close partnership with McKesson Automation, the regional distributor for JVM, to ensure a successful market entry.

Hanmi Pharmaceutical CEO Park Jae-hyun said: “Moving forward, Hanmi will actively pursue business opportunities that create synergy across the entire group. We are committed to expanding our global footprint and will make every effort to further increase the overseas share of our total sales.”
