JPFL Films launches BOPA nylon films in India

JPFL Films, a subsidiary of Indian packaging company Jindal Poly Films, has introduced biaxially oriented polyamide (BOPA) nylon films.

With the launch, JPFL Films is said to be the first company in India to release this type of film.

The company has reportedly invested Rs1.2bn ($13.7m) in its facility in Nashik city, within the state of Maharashtra.

The newly launched BOPA films boast isotropic properties, offering uniform characteristics in all directions.

Produced using exclusive Japanese double bubble film technology, the films are claimed to offer both dimensional stability and puncture resistance.

Furthermore, the films are designed for high-speed printing and act as an effective barrier against aromas and gases, making them a versatile solution for various packaging needs.

JPFL Films Growth division deputy CEO Mahesh Gopalasamudram said: “With the launch of BOPA Nylon Films, JPFL Films has emerged as the first player to bring the innovation to the Indian market.

“This unique product offers improved mechanical properties and aroma barrier. This will also play a pivotal role in bringing solutions across pharma, medical, FMCG, and food applications. It will be noteworthy to point out that 100% of these films were imported till recently.

“BOPA films are also produced by our group company Jindal Nylon Films in Italy. This experience will also help us in serving the Indian customers and bringing global innovation locally.”
