Axium Packaging’s New Facility in Canada Facilitates Use of PCR Plastic

Axium Packaging’s New Facility in Canada Facilitates Use of PCR Plastic

Axium Packaging, a leading packaging manufacturer for multinational consumer product companies, is celebrating the opening of its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Brampton, Ontario.

The 227,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is the third Ontario location for Axium, which was founded in the province in 2010. The new Brampton facility positions Axium to deliver faster, more sustainable packaging solutions for its customers in one of North America’s fastest-growing markets.

“This facility leverages the latest Axium equipment and processing technology and will be a platform to serve our customers across Canada with speed and agility,” said Axium Packaging Founder and CEO Pushminder Judge. “Canada is home for us, and Brampton is the ideal place to keep building on that vision while supporting our employees, their families and economic development throughout the region.”

Designed with both performance and scale in mind, the new Brampton facility is fully integrated into the company’s comprehensive enterprise resource management system and uses more than 45 packaging equipment lines for injection stretch blow molding (ISBM), extrusion blow molding (EBM), and injection molding (IM) as well as finishing and decoration. The facility holds 10 plastic resin silos, three of which house post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Axium uses PCR in as much as 30% of its packaging solutions, and its silo technology allows it to transition to greater PCR storage to meet rising demand.

This advanced capacity gives customers the flexibility to meet sustainability targets while ensuring the speed, consistency, and quality Axium is known for. The facility’s location — near both the company’s first facility and warehouse, as well as the Toronto Pearson International Airport and key customer partners — also cuts travel and delivery time to reduce environmental footprints and costs of production.

“We are excited to deepen our investment in this supportive community and to seize the growth opportunities Canada’s leading consumer product companies offer Axium,” said Axium Packaging President Paul Judge. “By introducing innovative technology and advancing sustainable products and operations, we are proud to deliver best-in-class packaging solutions here and across North America.”

This year marks 15 years of operations for Axium, which was founded by Pushminder Judge and Paul Judge in March 2010 with six desks and three plastic packaging manufacturing machines in Mississauga, Ontario.

With operations already underway, the Brampton plant is expected to create additional jobs at the site and strengthens Axium’s ability to serve Canadian and North American consumer product companies across a range of consumer categories, including personal and home cleaning supplies, food, pharmaceutical, health care and nutrition products commonly found on store shelves and in homes and businesses across the globe. It also reflects the continued growth of Axium’s entrepreneurial platform, which has expanded to 25 facilities across North America.
