LOG Pharma Primary Packaging has announced a new integrated manufacturing process for pharmaceutical containers, aiming to address long-standing inefficiencies in how drug bottles and caps are sourced.
The company, which operates production sites in Israel and Hungary, is now producing both bottles and caps at a single facility. This shift marks a significant change from the traditional method where pharmaceutical companies often purchase bottles and closures from separate suppliers — a practice that can result in compatibility issues and excess material waste.
Improved compatibility and reduced waste
By manufacturing bottles and caps under one roof, LOG aims to ensure a more consistent fit between components. The change is expected to cut down on mismatches, simplify procurement for pharmaceutical firms, and help meet strict packaging standards, including ISO 8317:2015 for child-resistant packaging.
LOG’s move follows requests from several of its existing clients, who had previously sourced only bottles from the company. Responding to the demand, LOG invested in new injection moulding machinery to produce caps tailored precisely to its bottle designs.
New production capacity introduced
As part of the expansion, LOG has added two dedicated injection moulding machines to its operations. These machines can produce more than 100 million caps annually, significantly boosting the company’s capacity to serve the pharmaceutical market.
The company stated that this setup provides pharmaceutical manufacturers with a more reliable supply chain and greater assurance in the integrity of their packaging. One global pharmaceutical company is already making use of the integrated production model.

LOG’s new approach is intended to reduce the logistical complexity and risk of sourcing packaging components from multiple vendors.
