Lacerta Group unveils Seal N’ Flip packaging for food retailers

Lacerta Group, a plastic packaging manufacturer, has launched its latest Seal N’ Flip packaging innovation for food retailers and brands.

The new design is expected to reduce packaging costs by up to 25% and cut plastic usage by as much as 50%.

The design places the lidding film on the bottom of the package, creating a product-forward display that helps to attract customers, stated the company.

The Seal N’ Flip packaging solution is claimed to be suitable for displaying a variety of ready-made food items such as sandwiches, wraps, and snacks. It retains functional benefits such as tamper resistance and leak protection.

Moreover, it offers a lower carbon footprint throughout the product’s life cycle, aligning with operational efficiency goals for food processors and manufacturers.

The product is scheduled to be generally available this August.

Lacerta marketing VP Craig Muldrew said: “Grab-and-go shelf real estate – especially in the refrigerated section – is highly competitive, so we designed the Seal N’ Flip packaging and stand to give brands a distinct edge.

“By using the stand to position products vertically to feature our unique back-facing lidding design, prepared foods are front and centre, creating a standout, premium look that speaks to the way consumers shop – with their eyes first.”

Lacerta stated that it can commercialise customised solutions within a six- to eight-week timeframe for those retailers and brands seeking a tailored look for the Seal N’ Flip packaging.

In 2023, Lacerta Group acquired Portage Plastics and PPC Investments for an undisclosed sum.
