Aldi UK Glues Its Beer Cans Together

Supermarket chain Aldi has announced a big change to its beer multipacks.

Aldi’s UK stores will begin selling their 4-packs of Sainte Etienne, Brasserie, and Galahad beers as “Snap Packs,” foregoing the current cardboard toppers and reducing the overall amount of packaging used even further.

The Snap Pack technology is a further step away from plastic rings and wraps, which are notoriously difficult to recycle and can even cause physical injury to wildlife, like Peanut the Turtle, whose shell was malformed into a figure-eight shape due to a plastic ring can carrier.
