Nobelus Releases Pair of Films to Support Digital Embellishments

Nobelus, a leading supplier of innovative finishing solutions for the prime label and flexible packaging markets, has released two new films designed specifically to support digital embellishments on premium applications. PlatinumOPP™ 48 ga Gloss Film and PlatinumOPP™ 48 ga Matte Film are manufactured with a special coating that makes them highly receptive to JetFX, hot and cold foil stamping, overprint varnish, and many other embellishment technologies.

“The new high-dyne matte and gloss lamination have been spectacular when used with our JetFX systems,” said Patrick Beetler, Lead Converter Technician at Labels on Demand, after test running the new Nobelus films. “We have been able to produce clean and crisp high-build products that have exceeded expectations.”

The films are available in both a crystal-clear gloss and a non-reflective matte finish that provides a striking contrast with embellishments. Flexible packaging converters can use these films to offer brands unique, highly decorated pillow bags, sachets, stick packs, and many other types of packaging formats.

Roy Langlois, Product Manager at Nobelus, says, “Spot varnish and other embellishments can make a significant difference for label and packaging converters in highly competitive markets. These new coated films will help converters stand out with full assurance in the quality of their value-add design elements.”

Like other films in the Nobelus film portfolio, these OPP products include no adhesive layer and support reverse printing. For label converters, this means moving from pressure-sensitive self-wound laminates to wet lamination.

“Label converters who make the swap to wet lamination tell us they’ve seen significant savings as their material costs go down,” shares Ryan Chai, Nobelus Strategic Accounts Solutions Specialist. “Combine those savings with increased margins from higher value, beautifully embellished labels, and we expect converters will see an impressive ROI with these coated films.”

PlatinumOPP 48 ga Gloss/Matte Films are part of the Nobelus Essentials Collection.
