American Packaging Corporation Announces Major Pouching Expansion

American Packaging Corporation (APC) announces the approval of a major expansion to its Story City, Iowa, Center of Excellence, housing another investment in state-of-the-art pouching capability and capacity.

American Packaging expects to break ground in October 2025 and complete the expansion by the end of September 2026. APC cites its “unprecedented history investing in world-class facilities and equipment, setting itself apart with a broad portfolio of pouches and bags, along with other flexible packaging technologies.”

APC notes that pouches are experiencing significant growth in the North American flexible packaging market, with a projected growth rate of approximately 4.5% from 2024 to 2029, according to a Modor Intelligence study. “This growth is driven by increasing consumer demand for convenient packaging solutions and the ability of pouches to offer superior combination of product protection, impactful visual appeal, and convenience features like open and reclose zippers,” APC says.

“American Packaging is uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for pouches and bags for a wide variety of applications,” said Ray Graham, CEO and President. “Customers can find the perfect combination of packaging materials, printing, and special features for their products.”

Kevin Neis, Operations Director, added, “APC’s Story City Center of Excellence offers award-winning flexographic printing for its preformed pouches and bags, creating vivid graphics with eye-catching shelf appeal that our customers value. We are excited to expand our pouching capacity and capability.”
