McDonald’s Taps Nostalgia Vein With Latest ‘McDonaldland Meals’

Nazcal Invites You To Turn On, Tune In, and Drop Out

Fast food chains have been seeing fewer customers lately. There’s likely more than one reason for the current sales slump, but inflation and economic jitters from low—and middle-income consumers seem to be mostly to blame.

Lower same-store sales drive chains like McDonald’s to get creative to prime the slumping sales pump. So it’s little surprise that the Clown Prince of Hamburgers is experimenting with “grown-up” Happy Meals to entice consumers again by tapping into McDonaldland nostalgia.

The adult Happy Meal concept, which McDonald’s last tried out in March as part of a tie-in promotion with the Minecraftfilm, features full-size meal combos, special packaging, and collectables designed to appeal to adults rather than children.
