Laffy Taffy Calls For New Jokes and Improves Annoying Packaging

Ferrero’s Laffy Taffy is best known for a couple of things: the corny “dad jokes” that come with every piece of candy and the annoyingly frustrating wrappers they come in.

Laffy Taffy’s stickiness makes unwrapping the candy a challenge. The packaging turns to sherds that stick onto the product, and several people resort to asking others on the internet for advice on how to unwrap the sweet morsels. Advice ranges from chilling the pieces of Laffy Taffy in the fridge or freezer, or even tearing it open as one would skin a rabbit leg, as if that’s a commonly held skill.

One TikTok expressing exaggerated frustration over the wrappers has over 2.5 million views. Others helpfully demonstrate how to unpeel a piece of Laffy Taffy, which may or may not be similar to skinning a rabbit. The easiest way seems to be to start tearing the wrapper at one edge, then ripping it along the seam.
