Fresh-Lock Launches Two New Sliders for Reclosable Flexible Packaging

Presto Products Company’s Fresh-Lock® brand, a leader in reclosable flexible packaging technology, is introducing two new innovations that set the stage for the next generation of slider technology. The Fresh-Lock® Ergo Ultra slider enhances consumer accessibility with its contoured, easy-grip design, while the highly anticipated Child-Guard® Edge slider system brings child-resistant functionality to small-format pouches, unlocking new opportunities for flexible packaging.

Merging Sustainable Packaging Materials with Accessibility

Engineered to feel as good as it functions, the Fresh-Lock® Ergo Ultra technology combines a contoured, easy-grip polyethylene slider design with a smooth, reliable polyethylene track. Made with recyclable materials, Ergo Ultra supports mono-material pouch solutions and qualifies as a pouch component for the How2Recycle Store Drop-Off program. Its reduced scale size uses less material, delivering a sleek, low-profile format and enhanced sustainability.

Innovation in Child-Resistance for Small-Format Pouches

Flexible packaging already offers brands lightweight, sustainable, ecommerce-ready solutions. However, until now, child-resistant slider formats were designed for larger pouches due to slider size and opening width constraints. Child-Guard® Edge was designed specifically for small-width pouches with high cycle counts. It features a reduced-scale slider and track that, when paired with compatible films and appropriate conversion methods, enables brands to create a broader range of child-resistant pouches. This design extends the benefits of slider reclosability—including visual affirmation, durability, and child-resistant functionality—into smaller-width pouches, while still delivering a convenient opening space. With Child-Guard® Edge, flexible packaging gains new design possibilities for regulated applications without sacrificing accessibility.

“The Fresh-Lock team is dedicated to driving innovation and advancing sustainability across the flexible packaging industry. No matter the market, if you have a product that needs reclosable packaging, we want to give you closure options that perform. That’s why we’re excited to bring Ergo Ultra and Child-Guard® Edge to select pouch converters and the broader marketplace,” said Todd Meussling, Fresh-Lock® Director of Business Development and Sustainability. “Ergo Ultra enhances accessibility for everyday consumers with sustainability benefits, and Child-Guard® Edge enables small-format, child-resistant pouches—unlocking new opportunities for brands to leverage the advantages of flexible packaging.”
