ISOFlex will utilise the certified circular material for packaging films, aligning with its sustainability goals while maintaining performance standards.

Shell Polymers global marketing manager Ryan Siegfried stated: “This collaboration underscores Shell Polymers’ ability to meet the real-world demands of converters seeking circular solutions, including certified circular resin.

“Our ISCC PLUS certified materials help customers like ISOFlex deliver traceable and functional solutions that make it possible for more end markets to access recycled plastic.”

Under the collaboration, Shell Polymers will provide the certified material from its facility in Monaca, Pennsylvania.

The polyethylene resin is accompanied by certification verifying that its circular attributes have been maintained through a traceable chain of custody, in accordance with ISCC PLUS standards.

Sigma Plastics Group ISOFlex division president David McKinney stated: “This partnership demonstrates how Shell Polymers’ certified circular solutions support our customers in achieving their goals in both performance and sustainability.

“By working with Shell, we’re able to maintain reliable functionality while also delivering an innovative solution that meets customer expectations.”

In July 2024, Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) launched what it described as Pakistan’s first-ever recycled plastic retail site – the Malik service station at Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.

SPL collaborated with the cofounders of product research and development company Concept Loop, Dabeer Hemani and Syed Ali Naqi.
