The DomeMini design offers a smart solution for mobile dairy consumption while opening co-packing and private-label possibilities for brands and retailers.

SalzburgMilch’s location in central Europe supports logistics and distribution.

The new packaging is expected to reach European retail shelves by mid-2026.

SalzburgMilch CEO Andreas Gasteiger stated: “SalzburgMilch stands for premium quality and innovation that’s rooted in Austrian tradition. Our close partnership with SIG allows us to pioneer this modern and convenient packaging solution for the European dairy industry and consumers, reflecting our strong commitment to excellence and innovation.”

Designed for UHT products such as speciality milk, protein beverages, plant-based drinks and meal replacements, DomeMini comes in seven sizes ranging from 180ml to 350ml.

The SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling machine can process up to 12,000 packs per hour, with the capability to change volumes within 15 minutes.

The pack’s large, centrally placed closure enhances convenience, allowing consumers to open, reclose and store it easily.

SIG Austria and Switzerland key account manager Nino Schmid said: “We’re proud that Austria continues to be a hub for innovation – and that SalzburgMilch is taking a pioneering role as the first company in Europe to adopt our unique packaging solution SIG DomeMini.

“We truly appreciate their forward-thinking approach and are confident that the eye-catching and convenient SIG DomeMini carton bottle will offer real added value to consumers with a unique combination of convenience, sustainability and shelf appeal.”

SalzburgMilch, Austria’s third-largest dairy producer, sources milk solely from Salzburg, Upper Austria and Bavaria.

The company also engages in private-label and contract-filling production, including plant-based alternatives.

SIG, based in Neuhausen, Switzerland, operates in more than 100 countries.

In 2024, it produced 57 billion packs and recorded €3.3bn in revenue.

In October 2025, South Korea’s Seoul Dairy Cooperative (SDC) began packaging its products in SIG’s aluminium-layer-free fullbarrier aseptic carton packs, starting with its organic white milk.
