Branding, Lettering, and Packaging Multihyphenate Alec Tear Refuses to Stand Still

Alec Tear has no time for monotony.

The CPG industry’s leading type wizard is constantly craving diversity in every aspect of his practice, from the styles he creates in his branding, packaging design, and lettering work to the types of clients and projects he takes on. Tear fancies himself a chameleon in this way, and his rise to prominence in the industry can be partly attributed to this adaptability.

We spoke to Tear in October about his full-scale refresh for the legacy beer brand Double Diamond, and previously honored his packaging design for Blossom and Blossom at the 2020 Dieline Awards. Suffice to say, we just can’t get enough of Alec Tear, and recently sat down with him again to take a deeper dive into his journey and practice.
