- McCafe, McDonald’s beverage sub-brand, gets a refresh by Turner Duckworth.
- The update comes as McDonald’s is betting on beverages to boost sales, especially among Gen Z and between meal times.
McDonald’s has long been in the coffee game. A lawsuit over the temperature of its java became lore for the large punitive damages award to the plaintiff, and for as long as I can remember, McDonald’s has usually offered a senior-citizen discount. There was always the same small group of older folks sitting inside, chatting over coffee in the morning.
But the Golden Arches has significantly stepped up its coffee game over time, and now offers beverages beyond the standard drip brew in regular or decaf. McDonald’s even launched a sub-brand, McCafe, to signal how seriously it took its coffeehouse-like menu, which included lattes, iced coffees, and frappes.
