Shelf Life 097: The Wellness Industry Is Coming for Your Armpits


I was chatting with my girlfriends this past weekend about deodorant, since I’ve just started trying Salt & Stone. I expected them to rave about chic, fragrance-free natural brands, but instead, it was unanimous: they all proudly use men’s deodorant. 

“That’s all that works,” they exclaimed in a sing-songy unison. 

Deodorant exists to solve a problem no one wants to think about or smell. But now, like every product you consume in or on your body, you’re supposed to think deeply about it.
