Deitz Co.'s Pharmafill BCV1 Automates Bottom-Side Pouch Printing

The Pharmafill BCV1 Bottomless Conveyor from packaging machinery manufacturer Deitz Co. enables lot traceability data, expiration dates, QR codes, recycling logos and other information to be printed automatically on the underside of flexible packaging pouches. Suitable for stand-up pouches, gusseted pouches, and other flexible packaging configurations, the clever bottomless conveyor automatically accepts the filled pouches from a standard conveyor, gently grips them between dual hugger belts, suspends the pouches over a printer for automated printing, and releases them downstream without tipping over or smearing the ink. The entire bottom printing process occurs seamlessly without stopping the packaging line or diverting the flow of the bags.

Ideal for food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other manufacturers seeking increased filling and packaging line speed and efficiency, the bottomless conveyor is often specified for printing on the bottoms of bags of coffee, tea, protein powder, dried nuts and fruits, pet treats, lawn and garden powders and other products. The conveyor is compatible with a wide range of thermal and continuous inkjet printers, laser marking devices and other printing and coding systems.

The bottomless conveyor is manufactured at the company’s Wall, New Jersey, headquarters. Testing is offered on the company’s on-site testing and training line to verify the conveyor is compatible with a particular bag, pouch and printer.
