Want To Know What Packaging Looks Like In North Korea?

North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country of over 26 million people. Despite its population and geographic proximity to countries like China, Russia, Japan, and South Korea, little is known about the DPRK in the US. America and North Korea have no diplomatic relations, are not trading partners, and travel to North Korea by Americans is practically impossible, save for a few exceptions.  The DPRK’s emphasis on military buildup, claims to the entire Korean peninsula, nuclear and ballistic weapon build-up, communism, and horrific human rights record have all factored into its isolation from the rest of the world. Even when Americans and other Westerners visit the DPRK, the trips are heavily manicured by the North Korean government. State chaperons always accompany tourists and are only shown what the government wants them to see.

Given the level of obfuscation maintained by North Korea, it’s difficult to know what branding and packaging look like there, or how they’re designed and produced. What does marketing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) entail?
