Mario Lopez Butt Wipes Are a Thing (And an Absolute Clinic on How Not to Design a CPG Product)

Did overtly gendered butt wipes exist before a couple of years ago? I don’t know, but they seem to have made their way from a strange and kind of redundant novelty to a begrudgingly accepted byproduct of living in really weird times. I want to think most people see something like Dude Wipes and think, “Huh,” but other people (men, of course) see the concept of a masculine butt wipe and get dollar signs behind their eyes.

One such person is Mario Lopez, erstwhile Saved by the Bell star and talk show host whose face is inescapable for anyone who watches network TV. He decided to throw his hat into the proverbial Dude Wipes ring with his own take on the formula, and, top to bottom (no pun intended), it’s plenty weird.
