ILÉM, designed by Marco Arroyo-Vázquez, certainly isn’t the first luxury oil in the market, but it is one of the most considered entries into that conversation yet. The bottle is a flat and rounded rectangular glass flask that lets the golden oil and submerged rose petals speak for themselves. Meanwhile, the cream label carries just enough information to feel editorial.
The sculptural red wax cap is the cherry on top of an already beautiful design. It’s irregular and hand-formed looking, adding a pop of color that feels more like a wax-sealed letter than an everyday food product. The whole design is a combination of cultural specificity and tactile luxury, making ILÉM something entirely its own.
