Yangi has commissioned its serial Cellera® machine platform at the production site of a European converter, marking its deployment in a commercial manufacturing environment and a key step in the industrialization of its dry forming technology.
During operation under industrial production conditions, Cellera demonstrated robust performance, including continuous operation, high uptime, fast production cycles and repeatable product quality, based on operational feedback from the customer site. Dry-formed products are expected to enter the market this year.
“Having the first serial Cellera platform operating at a customer site is a major milestone for Yangi and the industry,” says Johann Kaiser, CEO of Yangi. “It reflects years of development in dry forming technology and validates key aspects of our technology’s performance, stability and readiness for high-volume packaging production.”
The Cellera platform is powered by FiberIQ®, Yangi’s patented fiber-formation system, which provides precise control of fiber distribution throughout the forming process, giving packaging converters a high degree of process control. By optimizing material architecture within each product, FiberIQ enables consistent product quality, structural performance and efficient material utilization.
Combined with the dry forming process, which eliminates water-based molding, this significantly reduces resource consumption and CO₂ emissions by 70–80% compared with conventional plastic alternatives. The resulting fiber-based products are compatible with existing paper recycling streams, supporting circular end-of-life pathways.
The Cellera platform was industrialized in collaboration with GDM, a Coesia company, and AP&T, leveraging proven industrial machine execution to ensure reliable production and repeatable performance.
This establishes Cellera as a complete industrial dry forming system enabling high-performance, resource-efficient, and circular fiber-based packaging production while maintaining long-term competitiveness.
“Converters and brands are seeking solutions that combine high operational performance with improved resource efficiency,” says Hanna Rüdel, Chief Commercial Officer of Yangi. “The performance achieved at the customer site demonstrates that dry forming can be deployed for high-volume industrial food packaging production in a real manufacturing environment, enabling a new category of fiber-based packaging that can be produced at scale.”
