Ardagh Metal Packaging names new chief financial officer 


Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP), a supplier of recyclable metal beverage cans, has appointed Stefan Schellinger as its new chief financial officer (CFO). 

Effective 1 September 2024, Schellinger will succeed David Bourne, who will leave the business and venture on to new opportunities. 

With more than 25 years of financial and commercial experience, Schellinger previously worked with two listed companies, ContourGlobal and Essentra.   

Specifically, from 2019 to 2023, Stefan served as executive vice-president, global CFO, and a member of the board of directors of ContourGlobal.  

Schellinger, a dual British and German citizen, also served as the group finance director and executive director of Essentra from 2015 until 2018. 

AMP chief executive Oliver Graham said: “I am delighted that Stefan is joining AMP as our chief financial officer. Stefan is a highly experienced public company CFO with a proven track record of creating value through organic and inorganic growth.

AMP, an operating company of sustainable packaging business Ardagh Group, is a supplier of infinitely recyclable metal beverage cans, with sales of approximately $4.8bn in 2023. 

With 23 can production facilities in nine countries, the company serves brands across Europe, North America, and Brazil.  

In the second quarter of financial year 2024, AMP reported its revenue increased by $4m, compared with the $1.25bn it achieved in the three months ending 30 June 2023.
