UPM Raflatac and Eurostampa partner on sustainable label design project


UPM Raflatac, a global leader in sustainable labelling solutions, and Eurostampa, a renowned label manufacturer, have collaborated on the Envelope 2024 project, showcasing innovative label designs and sustainable materials.

The project involved students from the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, Italy, and the Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning Program of the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, US.

The students worked in two groups to develop creative briefs and label designs for well-known brands such as Bacardi, Nutella, Jose Cuervo, Fior di Sole, and Perrier Jouet.

UPM Raflatac contributed to the project by providing its innovative and sustainable label materials, including HIPSTER WSA PCR-FSC and FOREST FILM PP CLEAR.

These materials offer a combination of aesthetic appeal, environmental sustainability, and high performance.

The collaboration aimed to push the boundaries of label design and explore new possibilities in sustainable labelling.

By combining creativity, technology, and sustainable materials, the project highlights the potential for labels to be both visually appealing and environmentally responsible.

“By involving students in real-world projects, we are advancing label design and providing valuable educational opportunities to ensure that our labels meet the expectations of Generation Z consumers,” said Riccardo Sauvaigne, marketing and innovation director at Eurostampa.

The designs created for the Envelope 2024 project are on display at Eurostampa’s booth at the ongoing LUXE PACK event, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable labelling.
