TransPak has opened a new 300,000-square-foot facility in Manor, Texas, near Austin. The expansion is intended to strengthen the company’s support for the semiconductor industry, which plays a key role in the region’s economy.
The facility, which took three years to complete, is located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Austin.
The site consists of two newly constructed buildings designed to meet the needs of both employees and customers. Features include temperature-controlled environments, advanced rigging capabilities, warehousing, packaging, and logistics services.
Other amenities include employee cafeterias, locker rooms, and a mezzanine overlooking operations.
Job creation and economic impact
The opening of the facility is expected to generate between 75 and 100 new jobs in Manor. These roles will be added to TransPak’s existing workforce of over 200 employees at the location. Local officials have highlighted the potential economic benefits of the company’s expansion.
Scott Jones, economic development director for the city of Manor, described the facility as a significant investment in the community, noting that it would create job opportunities for residents and contribute to economic growth.
Importance of climate-controlled storage
A key feature of the new facility is its climate-controlled environment, which ensures stable temperature, humidity, and air quality.
These conditions are particularly important for handling and storing semiconductor equipment, which can be sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and other environmental factors.
TransPak’s General Manager in Manor, Mark Wordekemper, expressed appreciation for the efforts of employees, contractors, and local partners involved in the project. The company’s expansion in Manor aligns with the broader growth of the semiconductor industry in the Austin area.
