CVS Swaps Plastic OTC Bottles for Aluminum

  • CVS is replacing the plastic bottle packaging for their store brand allergy and pain relief OTC medications with recyclable aluminum
  • The pharmaceutical industry is long overdue for a sustainable packaging overhaul, and who better to lead the way than CVS

We all need our over-the-counter pain meds. At least anyone over the age of 30 does. But what about the pain the plastic packaging of that medication is causing to the planet? Addressing the extreme waste issue that the pharmaceutical industry has peddled with its unsustainable packaging standards is long overdue.

CVS has just announced that it will be replacing its plastic bottles with aluminum alternatives for its store-branded over-the-counter products nationwide. This rollout will begin with select value-sized CVS brand allergy and pain relief support products.
