Austrian packaging manufacturer packit! has enhanced its production capabilities with the acquisition of a complete BOBST MASTERCUT 1.65 PER die-cutting line.

This investment allows the company to process a wide range of corrugated board products, streamlining its production planning.

The MASTERCUT 1.65 PER line can handle large-size cardboard and robust corrugated sheets while also being gentle enough for litho-printed surfaces with varnish.

It is also claimed to be the only market solution for blanking in size VII available currently.

packit! also selected the die-cutter due to its fast setup times and high automation level.

The machine is equipped with a FLAT TRACK and PALLETIZER, which enable batches with stripped and blanked blanks to be palletised in different patterns.

packit! CEO and co-founder Walter Freimüller said: “These machines are really flexible, enabling us to change things to meet our production requirements.

“Our engineers are constantly innovating and creating new types of cardboard packaging, and the knowledge of our engineers, combined with the flexibility of the BOBST equipment, means it can offer a unique selling proposition for the market.”

Operating from one of Europe’s most modern production facilities, packit! specialises in E flute, F flute, and laminated double-wall materials.

The company operates two automated warehouses, with a capacity of 53,000 pallets.

The latest investment will enable packit! to continue serving the food industry with high-quality offset laminated corrugated board solutions.

BOBST product line DSF LLAM head Marco Lideo said: “packit!’s reputation for supplying high-quality corrugated packaging with fast turnaround speeds is well known, and their recent investment in our MASTERCUT 1.65 PER will only enhance this capability further.”

Last month, India-based Surya Fresh Foods, a subsidiary of Surya Food & Agro, increased its productivity by upgrading its BOBST NOVACUT 106 E Autoplaten die-cutter.
