Saica Pack announces $12.6m warehouse facility in Hartlepool, UK

Saica Pack, the corrugated packaging division of Saica Group, has initiated a £10m ($12.6m) warehouse facility project in Hartlepool, UK.

The construction, which is already in progress, is expected to be ongoing throughout the year.

Upon completion, the new facility will enhance Saica’s delivery capabilities, aligning with the company’s commitment to delivering new and sustainable packaging solutions.

The warehouse is designed to accommodate up to 9,000 pallets, significantly exceeding the average capacity of 4,250 pallets for most regional warehouses.

This expansion is a strategic move to bolster Saica Pack’s growth objectives, increasing its capacity for sheet and converted corrugated products.

The facility will include dedicated areas for the logistics team and a rest zone for drivers, aiming to optimise efficiency and provide comprehensive support for operations.

With a focus on sustainability, the warehouse will feature solar panels.

These panels are projected to generate up to 10% of the plant’s total energy requirements, contributing to a reduction in its carbon footprint.

Saica Pack Northeast England regional director Riccardo Tonelli said: “This investment in Hartlepool is a key milestone in Saica’s long-term commitment to the region.

“It reflects our deep commitment to delivering exceptional service, enhancing our operational efficiency, and creating sustainable solutions for our customers.

“By integrating renewable energy and supporting local employment, we’re not just expanding our business – but strengthening our foundation for decades of growth and progress.”
