Ranpak expands portfolio with PaperWrap integration

Ranpak Holdings, a provider of sustainable packaging technology, has integrated PaperWrap into its portfolio, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic stretch film for pallet wrapping.

This partnership between Ranpak and PaperWrap aims to meet various operational needs while promoting efficiency and sustainability in securing goods for transportation.

PaperWrap, based in Europe, collaborated with the Mondi Group to develop a range of paper pallet wrapping machines.

These machines are claimed to have been designed to maximise the use of Mondi’s Ad/Vantage StretchWrap, a recyclable kraft paper that can stretch and resist punctures, making it an ideal replacement for plastic stretch film.

PaperWrap’s portfolio includes three models to cater to different levels of customer automation: semiautomatic stand-alone units, fully automatic stand-alone machines, and fully automatic line integration systems.

These solutions are said to contribute to reducing carbon footprints and advancing circular economy objectives.

The wrapping machinery, paired with Mondi’s high-strength, puncture-resistant kraft paper, allows companies to forego plastic without compromising on performance.

Ranpak chair and CEO Omar Asali said: “At Ranpak, sustainability is at the core of everything we do.

“This new partnership with PaperWrap represents a significant milestone as we continue to evaluate the most sustainable materials possible and deliver resources that will help businesses transition away from single-use plastics.

“Together, we are driving the future of sustainable packaging and creating a positive impact for generations to come.”

PaperWrap was founded by EW Technology and Matco International in 2024.

Last month, Ranpak unveiled Print’it!, an in-line printing solution designed for automated packaging lines.
