Spring officially sprang last week, which means no more wistfully looking out windows in search of greener pastures and the start of the 2025 baseball season.

It’s on these days, amid meaningless spring training games and fastball-damaged elbows very nearly falling off the bone, that even in a world circling multiple dumpster fires, everything feels possible for a moment. Sure, there’s a constitutional crisis on our hands and fresh evils every hour on the hour, but today, I can see the Phillies winning 100 games and coasting to their third championship.
