Il Visone selects Tosca’s reusable crates to improve grape storage

Il Visone, a major supplier of fresh grapes within the Italian Agricooper group, has partnered with packaging solutions provider Tosca for its reusable plastic crate solutions.

The decision to work with Tosca was driven by the need to ensure consistent product quality across the company’s supply chain.

Il Visone’s transition to these reusable plastic crates is said to have streamlined its operations and improved overall efficiency.

The crates are designed with pierced holes to promote airflow, ensuring that the contained grapes remain fresh from August to November.

The crates’ stackable design has also improved pallet stability, reducing the risk of collapses during storage and enhancing safety. Additionally, the foldable crates allow for more efficient storage and transport.

This capability in particular has enabled Il Visone to reduce logistical costs and lessen the environmental impact of moving grapes to market.

Tosca further customised the crates with Il Visone’s branding, boosting visibility and traceability in the supply chain.

Encouraged by the success of the collaboration, Il Visone plans to explore further opportunities to optimise its operations with Tosca.

The company already uses Tosca’s plastic pallets for internal handling and wood-effect crates for retail distribution.

A representative from Il Visone said: “Tosca’s reusable plastic crates have simplified our operations and improved efficiency at every stage of our supply chain.

“From their durability and design to the excellent service provided, Tosca has been an invaluable partner.”
