Vermouth has been a cornerstone of Spanish culture since the 19th century, and Baron de Benifayó by Maba translates that theatrical tradition into a label that looks like it was pulled straight from the archives.
The central illustration is a dramatic dueling scene in a style that directly references the tradition of late 19th- and early 20th-century Spanish and French poster art. The typography is fully embedded into the illustration, set in a wide serif in electric cobalt blue that cuts across the scene. A cobalt blue wax capsule seal tops the bottle, carrying the same blue from the label up through the neck and creating a visual thread that ties the entire object together.
Vermouth tends to default to rustic Mediterranean simplicity, but Baron de Benifayó is fully committed to the bit, every square centimeter of the label is doing something dramatically worth looking at.
