TriMas appoints Thomas Snyder as new president and CEO

TriMas has announced the appointment of Thomas J Snyder as its new president and CEO, effective 23 June 2025.

He will also join the TriMas board of directors as part of this transition.

Snyder is taking over from Thomas Amato, the current president and CEO of the company.

With nearly 35 years of experience in the packaging industry, Snyder has held several leadership roles at Silgan Holdings.

His extensive background includes managing a global manufacturer of packaging solutions for consumer goods products.

Most recently, Snyder served as president of Silgan Containers, overseeing nearly $3bn in sales. During his tenure, he was instrumental in driving significant sales, earnings, and cash flow growth.

Before his role as president, Snyder was the executive vice-president of Silgan Containers from July 2006 to October 2007. He also held the position of vice-president of the Sales and Marketing segment from July 2002 to July 2006.

Earlier in his career, Snyder took on various roles at Silgan Containers, including director of sales and national account manager. His diverse experience also includes positions in materials application engineering and operations management.

Snyder said: “TriMas has a portfolio of market-leading products, great manufacturing capabilities and solid customer relationships to build upon for the future.

“I am excited to join the team. Based on my initial evaluation, I am confident we can identify and pursue significant opportunities to enhance future performance of the company, and I look forward to working together with our talented global team to achieve TriMas’ untapped potential.”

TriMas produces a diverse array of products catering to the consumer goods, aerospace, and industrial sectors through its divisions, namely TriMas Packaging, TriMas Aerospace, and Speciality Products.

Last November, TriMas Packaging opened a new automated manufacturing facility in China.
