The deal also covers SÜDPACK’s facility in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, which is close to major meat and cheese production areas in the US.

PPC Flex said that the purchase offers improved production capabilities in flexographic printing, conversion, and cold seal technology.

By adding SÜDPACK’s Oak Creek facility to its network, PPC Flex is expected to increase its manufacturing capacity and broaden its technical capabilities.

The company plans to use the site’s technology and resources to develop packaging for speciality proteins and other food markets.

SÜDPACK Group CEO Thorsten Seehars said: “We are very pleased to have found in PPC Flex a strong and forward-looking buyer for our US operations. Their strategic vision, innovative strength, and commitment to long-term growth give us full confidence that our facilities and our team are in excellent hands. We are equally glad that PPC Flex, with its large converting footprint, will become a strategic partner for SÜDPACK in the United States going forward.”

The additional capabilities are also expected to support PPC Flex’s customers in the snack and confectionery industries, particularly using cold seal technology.

The company has indicated that this expansion will allow it to provide shorter lead times and increase the speed of service for its range of packaging products.

PPC Flex CEO Kevin Keneally commented: “We are thrilled to welcome the SÜDPACK US team into the PPC Flex family.

“This acquisition brings us expanded technical capabilities and capacity that will allow us to deliver even more innovative and sustainable solutions across our broad customer base.”

Last week, SÜDPACK Medica introduced MedHub, a service that allows customers to order standard, pre-manufactured medical packaging pouches through telephone, email, or online.
