Tentoma A/S Introduces New Film Stand for Stretch Hood Packaging Machines

Tentoma A/S has introduced the new MFU Multi Film Unit (patent pending), an innovative film stand developed for RoRo StretchPack® stretch hood packaging machines. The MFU addresses the growing demand for higher capacity and more efficient handling of multiple film sizes on a single packaging line.

One film stand – multiple film rolls

The key advantage of the new MFU Multi Film Unit is its ability to automatically switch between different film rolls. The MFU consists of a Film Stand (FS) and a Film Handling Unit (FU) which together enable automatic changeover between up to three different film rolls without interrupting production.

Where higher capacity or greater flexibility is required, two MFU Multi Film Units can be installed on the same packaging machine. This makes up to six different film rolls available simultaneously, allowing the packaging line to be quickly adapted to varying product dimensions and quality requirements.

All installed film rolls are equipped with a Film Opening Unit, ensuring that each film is always open and ready for the next packaging cycle. This means the required film size is instantly available, supporting fast and continuous operation – even on lines handling a wide range of products with high variation.

Well suited for OEM and branded packaging

The MFU Multi Film Unit is particularly suitable for OEM packaging and applications where products are wrapped in films with different branding. Operators can switch easily between film rolls with different prints and branding, without compromising packaging capacity or quality.

Designed for uptime, flexibility and space efficiency, with the MFU Multi Film Unit, Tentoma expands the possibilities of RoRo StretchPack® packaging by offering an effective way to increase capacity, reduce changeover time and future-proof packaging lines.

By replacing three separate film stands, the MFU can reduce the overall width of a RoRo StretchPack® packaging machine by up to 38%. This makes it especially attractive for production environments where floor space is limited. The compact design also makes the MFU well suited for retrofitting existing packaging lines, including the replacement of older heat shrink systems with a RoRo StretchPack® solution, with minimal impact on layout and infrastructure.
