I don’t eat a lot of plant-based meats, but I like most chicken pretenders. The faux nuggets and patties seem to come the closest to their animal-based counterparts and let’s be honest, the breading and spices do most of the heavy lifting in the flavor department.
That said, I’m not sure who’s eager to form their own chicken nuggets or cutlets at home, but that’s the concept behind Elmhurst 1925’s newest product, a boxed and powdered plant-based chicken mix called TerraMeat Plant-based Chick’n.
Elmhurst 1925’s Chick’n powder uses protein from GMO-free, certified, drought-resistant, and highly renewable hemp. Consumers mix the powder with water, a little oil, and a spice blend, then form the mix into a cutlet and cook in the microwave.
