Pack of the Month: Onmi Design Brews Up a Good Story For High Bank Coffee Roasters

As a rule, I don’t wear white shirts in the morning as I am completely devoid of any kind of grace. Inevitably, that first sip of coffee will dribble down my face and stain said shirt.

However, as it turns out, I should have been looking to those coffee stains for inspiration, as Onmi Design’s latest work on High Bank Coffee Roasters—and our October 2024 Pack of the Month—features typography influenced by those pesky light-brown circles and rings left by coffee cups on tablecloths. For Onmi, they saw those stains as glorious imperfections and a metaphor for the beauty of our everyday lives. Clever type choices aside, the agency also used the brand’s coffee bags as a vessel for storytelling, taking a documentary-style approach to coffee culture and the tale of how those beans make it into your mug each morning.
