Ferrum Packaging and KHS announce merger with H.F. Meyer

Can seamers manufacturer Ferrum Packaging and German packaging systems supplier KHS have announced a merger with H.F. Meyer Maschinenbau, known for its specific canning technology segments, set to take effect from 1 January 2025.

H.F. Meyer will remain an independent entity within the consortium. The merger is forecast to complement the existing strengths of Ferrum and KHS in the beverage industry.

The move is expected to create a competence centre for canning technology, leveraging H.F. Meyer’s specialised expertise in can turners, rinsers, and vacuum bridges.

The integration aims to bolster technological expertise and innovation in canning systems and solutions.

H.F. Meyer, with facilities in Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria, Germany, has approximately 100 employees.

Ferrum Group board of directors chair Beat Bühlmann said: “H.F. Meyer’s special expertise gives us a significant wealth of know-how that we’ll be able to apply to joint further developments. The integral approach and pooled knowledge of the three companies will enable us to provide even more precise, customised equipment and solutions from a single source.
