Mexican Design Studio Heavy Breathes Life Into Brands

Mexican Design Studio Heavy Breathes Life Into Brands

Brands are entities with personalities of their own.

Of course, not all studios or agencies design a brand as if they’re crafting a character with a distinct personality and feelings, almost like a person one would want to know, hang out with, or have as a friend. But that’s how Mexico’s Heavy approaches each of their projects, bringing life to every brand that reaches the marketplace.

Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Sofia Vargas and Lane Cope founded Heavy in 2016 after the duo became enamored with brand design. Frustration also guided the studio’s origins, as they were both unable to practice design how they wanted. They both studied design at ITESO, where the attention and success of Mexican design studios like Anagrama, Menta, and Futura inspired them.
