You Won’t Believe Who’s Selling the Cheapest Eggs in NYC (Hint: It’s Not a Grocery Store)

In an unexpected crossover between skincare and groceries, beauty brand The Ordinary has partnered with MSCHF to sell cartons of eggs (yes, real eggs) for $3.37 at two of its New York City storefronts. The unexpected stunt was only available on March 22 and 23, and the project was framed as “no frills, just eggs,” offering a surprisingly affordable price point amid the ongoing egg shortage and rising grocery costs.

The eggs come in minimalist packaging that perfectly mirrors The Ordinary’s signature branding: straightforward typography, muted tones, and a focus on simplicity. Known for its vegan skincare line, The Ordinary’s entry into the world of animal products is a deliberate contradiction, a move that emphasizes the project’s satirical edge.
