Mainetti opens new Design and Innovation Centre in Chester, UK

Mainetti, a packaging solutions company based in the UK, has opened a new Design and Innovation Centre in Chester, England.

The new site highlights the company’s ongoing focus on developing customer-oriented packaging designs.

The Design and Innovation Centre leverages the region’s expertise in design, engineering, and innovation to facilitate product development and strengthen manufacturing capabilities.

Additionally, the hub is expected to advance Mainetti’s sustainable retail packaging solutions.

The facility will act as a global hub, bringing together Mainetti’s teams from the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

The company noted that its new facility is equipped with modern tools, including computer-aided design systems, 3D printing technology, and precision laser cutters.

Mainetti said that the Chester facility will bring together experts in research, design, engineering, and retail development, contributing to faster design cycles and improved production.

This collaboration aims to find solutions to common industry issues through shared expertise.

The centre will also host testing programmes, design workshops, and live demonstrations of new techniques.

Mainetti general manager and innovation head Mike Jones said: “The launch of our Design and Innovation Centre marks a significant milestone for Mainetti.

“It reinforces our commitment to advancing sustainable retail packaging solutions that evolve with our customers’ needs.”

According to Mainetti, the centre will help clients adopt circular approaches to packaging.

This investment follows recent growth in Mainetti’s paper hanger division and global service plans.

Mainetti CEO Roberto Peruzzo said: “This is more than just a product development centre, it’s an investment in the future of packaging.

“With the increased demand for innovation in packaging, our cutting-edge testing tools ensure durability, flexibility and reduced environmental impact.

“We look forward to the breakthroughs that will set new industry benchmarks and enhance customer service.”

Last October, Mainetti announced that it was investing in its manufacturing capabilities, talent, and innovation to expedite the company’s growth in paper-hanging solutions.
