One of the most recognizable and often frustrating aspects of home goods brand IKEA is that its products are generally sold as assemble-it-yourself. This business model reduces manufacturing and shipping costs while making it easier for customers to schlep their new dressers and tables home, as they are packaged in flat and compact boxes.
