Amcor enhances recyclability of RAUCH Yippy drink in Austria

Amcor has announced its collaboration with RAUCH Yippy, a children’s drink brand in Austria, to supply its Secure Flip 26mm tamper-evident sports cap.

This move is aimed at enhancing the recyclability of the brand’s packaging.

The Secure Flip cap is designed to stay tethered to the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle, ensuring that both components can be collected for recycling together, provided there is appropriate infrastructure.

The Secure Flip sports cap, with its patented nondetachable tamper-evident band, offers an alternative to detachable tabs.

The cap’s design features an ergonomic Thumb Tab for one-handed opening, an audible ‘clip’ sound for opening and closing confirmation, and a full 180-degree opening for easy access to the spout.

RAUCH Yippy has been offering a range of flavoured drinks with added calcium and vitamins without preservatives since 2003.

The adoption of Amcor’s Secure Flip cap builds on the brand’s commitment to child-friendly packaging by enhancing the packaging’s recyclability.

Rauch Yippy international brand manager Gudrun Golob said: “The right packaging has been a critical part of Yippy’s success.

“With the adoption of the Amcor closure, we are ensuring that children continue to get the best enjoyment from the drink, and at the same time are able more easily to recycle the entire pack, an important benefit for increasingly environmentally conscious youngsters and their parents.”

The cap’s coloured tamper-evident band also remains fixed after opening, providing visual assurance of the product’s integrity from the manufacturer to the consumer.

Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions International sales vice-president Matthias Hammersen said: “Safe, comfortable on-the-go consumption is a key part of many drinks brands’ offerings, and it’s important that this can deliver a premium consumer experience.

“Our Secure Flip closure was therefore specifically developed to combine aesthetics with functionality and convenience, and these benefits also help to enhance the pack’s overall sustainability offering.”
