Fedrigoni introduces wash-off label for wine, spirits and craft beer


Fedrigoni Self‑Adhesives North America, a brand of Italian speciality papers manufacturer Fedrigoni, has unveiled a wash‑off label designed to support glass reuse in the wine, spirits and craft beer segments.

The product balances durability in chilled and wet conditions with the ability to detach cleanly during bottle washing.

The label combines the company’s FW8000 wash‑off adhesive with a Sorolla H+O WS facestock.

Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives North America marketing manager Melissa Harton stated: “Circular design is no longer optional, it’s essential.

“With our wash-off, wineries and beverage brands can maintain the luxurious look consumers expect, while enabling efficient glass reuse and minimising waste.”

Sorolla H+O WS / FW8000 / 1.2 mil PET retains label appearance throughout its life.

The labels detach completely in an alkaline wash at 176°F, leaving no adhesive behind and rendering bottles ready for reuse, aiding wineries’ sustainability goals.

They can also be integrated with third‑party bottle reuse services. Revino, a system that handles the collection, washing and redistribution of wine bottles, is an example of a potential partner.

Fedrigoni operates 73 production, slitting and distribution sites and sells into 132 countries.

Its other brands include Cordenons, Fabriano, Magnani 1404 and Polifibra 2011.

In June 2025, Fedrigoni entered a multiyear partnership with Palantir Technologies, intended to accelerate digital transformation efforts, with an initial emphasis on stock optimisation and demand forecasting.

In February, the company took a minority stake in Papkot, a start‑up developing large‑scale paper coating technology that aims to replicate properties of plastic.
