Swedish company Holmen has expanded its Elevate containerboard line with a fresh fibre fluting product, Holmen Elevate Flute.
The move means the range now covers both liner and fluting for corrugated packaging, with basis weights starting from 72 grams per square metre (gsm).

The company said this allows a more consistent lightweighting approach across the full corrugated structure, with the aim of cutting material consumption and related emissions while maintaining performance.
The Elevate range is used in areas such as e-commerce packs, shelf-ready retail packaging, and punnets for fruit and vegetables.
It is also approved for direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foods, making it suitable for food and drink packaging.
Production takes place at Holmen’s Braviken Paper Mill in Sweden.
The company said manufacturing is linked to an integrated supply chain in which pulpwood and wood chips come from its nearby sawmill while by-products are used for bioenergy or soil improvement.
Holmen board and paper containerboard segment owner Mathias Dufeld said: “Fresh fibre is at the core of how we combine performance with sustainability.
“By enabling lightweight corrugated solutions, we can help reduce material use and improve cost efficiency while supporting circularity and the efficient use of resources.”
Last September, Holmen Board and Paper introduced a lightweight kraftliner under the Holmen Elevate name.
At the time, the kraftliner was described as the ‘lightest’ in the market and launched in 72gsm, 82gsm and 92gsm grades. Holmen Elevate offers water resistance while being recyclable.
