Power Adhesives launches biodegradable hot melt adhesive

UK-based company Power Adhesives has announced the release of a biodegradable hot melt adhesive, which marks a significant development in the packaging industry.

The new product, called tecbond 2014B, is designed for use by businesses in cartons, corrugated packaging, point-of-sale (POS) converters, and contract packers.

Certified biodegradable and compostable

tecbond 2014B has been fully certified to break down without leaving harmful residues or microplastics behind.

It meets both the ASTM D6400 and EN13432 standards, which regulate the compostability and biodegradability of products.

The adhesive is made from 44% biobased materials, further supporting its environmentally friendly profile.

Same performance, sustainable advantage

Although tecbond 2014B is designed to be environmentally sustainable, Power Adhesives has stated that it performs at the same level as its standard adhesives.
