Studio One Eleven Develops Packaging for Gold’s Gym that Meets the Gold Standard

Gold’s Gym has been a premier strength training and bodybuilding gym for over 60 years. What started as a small outlet in Venice Beach, California, has grown to become one of the most well-known traditional fitness companies in the world. The company supports life-changing transformations and fitness achievements across six continents. In addition to its world-class gyms, the brand helps its customers power up their workouts with premium supplements.

Gold’s Gym Pre-Workout powder is the gold standard for exercise supplements, so it needed gold-standard packaging. Studio One Eleven developed a custom plastic container and closure that marries form and function. The sleek package may seem simple, but it also had its share of challenges, with a specially-designed metallic decoration that was difficult to achieve.

The Studio’s design and engineering teams split the closure into two pieces, allowing for selective Vacuum Metallization that creates the gold stripe decoration around the rim. It also allowed for a more precise alignment of the heat-stamped logo on the closure with the label on the jar. This creative solution helped create the premium aesthetic the brand needed.

The customer was thrilled with the custom design and customer service provided by Studio One Eleven. Kenneth Carter of Gold’s Gym told Berlin Packaging, “The praise we receive from professionals within the supplement industry and our customers is something I’m grateful to have been a part of, and there’s no chance we could have done any of it without you.”
