For five decades, English heavy metal band Iron Maiden has been melting fans’ faces off. Part of the group’s sustained success can be attributed to hitting the road hard; to date, they’ve clocked in over 2,700 shows across 59 countries.
Besides the constant barrage of performances, another hallmark of the Iron Maiden world is the band’s mascot, Eddie, illustrated by Derek Riggs for the band’s first self-titled album. Eddie would go on to become Iron Maiden’s regular visual signature. Aside from album art, concert posters, set decoration, and merch, Eddie has appeared on the livery of Iron Maiden’s tour jet, Ed Force One.
